Delete branch "%!s()"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
Slice of the epic #582. Starts after #585 (the concept, the vertical slice and the book gates) is merged.
Scope
Write one hand-written page in
book/std/per module:prelude,core,number,text,collections,iteration,function-types,regex,random,time,identifier. Each replacesdocs/standard-library/<module>.md.Acceptance criteria
pageand is written asbook/CONCEPT.md, "How a page is written", says: the first paragraph says what the page covers, headings name ideas, prose first, no history, no internal references, no Related/Next sectionstrb runandtrb errorblock has itsoutputblock with the real output;torb docs check book,torb docs index --check bookandtorb docs site book --checkpass in CIbook/CONCEPT.mdthat the area touches are shown, not just nameddocs/this slice replaces are deleted in the same PR, unless a skill is still built from them (then they stay, unpublished, and the PR says which)package: std/<module>), so the site links the generated API reference oftorb doc stdPages
Filed as child issues, each its own PR, all carrying
loop; none isreadyyet, they are made ready one after the other. The pages are independent (links only to pages already on main), so the order is a suggestion. The first slice also decides theorder:front matter of the Std index.std/prelude.md,std/core.md- #638 (PR #654 in review)std/number.md- #639 (PR #655 in review)std/text.md,std/identifier.md- #640 (PR #663 in review)std/collections.md- #641std/iteration.md,std/function-types.md- #642std/regex.md,std/random.md- #643std/time.md- #644The old material of the eleven modules is about 121 KB, too much for one PR, so each child is one page or a small group of 2 pages. No other Std slice (#592 to #595) claims these modules.
[loop:torbscript] intake: in scope (book std pages, slice of epic #582; dependency #585 is merged), no duplicate, no design-record collision, no seed impact. Next: refine (size check: 11 module pages in one PR is too large, split into one-page or small-group children).
[loop:torbscript] claim refine by session:loop-torbscript-20261030 until 2026-10-30T05:50Z
[loop:torbscript] release refine: the old material of the eleven modules is about 121 KB, too much for one PR; filed #638 (prelude, core), #639 (number), #640 (text, identifier), #641 (collections), #642 (iteration, function-types), #643 (regex, random), #644 (time), each one page or two, 30-40 minutes, with the criteria of this issue and its own
Replaces in docs/list. #591 now carries the checklist and noready. All children carryloopand none isready(made ready one after the other).[loop:torbscript] next: waiting (children #638, #639, #640, #641, #642, #643, #644)
[loop:torbscript] wait until 2026-10-30T09:00Z: #638 (PR #654) and #639 (PR #655) are in review, #640 to #644 stay unready. Seven PRs are open against a cap of eight and the forge CI queue is not draining (new runs sit queued for an hour or more), so another PR would only add to the backlog. Next: make #640 ready once two of the open PRs have merged or their CI has finished.
[loop:torbscript] wait until 2026-10-30T09:00Z: #638 (#654), #636 (#645), #605 (#637) are merged; #639 (PR #655) and #640 (PR #663) are in review, #641 to #644 stay unready. Four PRs are open and the forge CI queue still delays new runs by an hour or more. Next: make #641 ready once #655 or #663 has merged or its CI has finished.
[loop:torbscript] wait until 2026-10-30T09:00Z: #639 (PR #655) is merged; #640 (PR #663) is in review, #641 (PR #675) is open, #642 has a worker; #643 and #644 stay unready. Next: make #643 ready once #663 or #675 has merged.
