Red main CI (run 2541, job 28180, tools/release-sync and tools/registry linux-x64): tools/registry test "torb login, owner, yank and logout against the write service > a file: registry has no accounts, and its signed index is not yanked or deprecated by hand" fails with Assertion failed: loginToDirectory.code == 1. 510 passed, 1 failed. Find out whether it is a flake or a regression from a recent main commit, and fix the cause (test or code). Re-run via ci-wait.sh on the fix branch.

[loop:torbscript] implementation: cause found, a latent race and not a regression of the test: tools/registry/src/program.trb ran fails on a broken stdin pipe when the child ends before it reads, and torb login --registry file:... refuses before reading stdin, so loginToDirectory sometimes got exit -1 instead of 1. Fix in PR #698 (ran treats a broken pipe on the input as the program not wanting it; the exit code tells the rest), next: review (CI running)

[loop:torbscript] implementation: PR #698 CI green on f929e949 (run 2498: gates, tier A/B, tools/registry, conformance all success). The registry test cannot be proven deterministic by one green run, but the race (child ends before it reads stdin) is closed in ran. next: review (merge gate)
