Context

Remainder of #678 (slice 1 of the JavaScript back end, docs/design/JAVASCRIPT-BACKEND.md section 6). PR #679 landed the narrower slice: Architecture.JavaScript, the browser-js target, the emitter, the runtime, torb build --target browser-js, tests/conformance/javascript_first.trb, js.allow with that one program, tools/conformance.sh --js and the CI job conformance-js.

What

  • Add the existing conformance programs that already build and run for browser-js using only the slice-1 constructs to tests/conformance/js.allow (the conformance-js job proves each one).
  • Make torb run and torb check accept --target browser-js without --emit-c.
  • Optional, from the review of #679: a node --test file pinning the integer tables of runtime/javascript/int64.mjs; narrow the RangeError check in torb_run so a non-panic RangeError is not reported as stack overflow.

Acceptance criteria

  • js.allow holds the existing programs that use only the slice-1 constructs
  • torb run --target browser-js and torb check --target browser-js work without --emit-c
  • torb format --check and torb docs check are green

Part of the epic #63. Refs #678, #679.

## Context Remainder of #678 (slice 1 of the JavaScript back end, docs/design/JAVASCRIPT-BACKEND.md section 6). PR #679 landed the narrower slice: `Architecture.JavaScript`, the `browser-js` target, the emitter, the runtime, `torb build --target browser-js`, `tests/conformance/javascript_first.trb`, `js.allow` with that one program, `tools/conformance.sh --js` and the CI job `conformance-js`. ## What - Add the existing conformance programs that already build and run for `browser-js` using only the slice-1 constructs to `tests/conformance/js.allow` (the `conformance-js` job proves each one). - Make `torb run` and `torb check` accept `--target browser-js` without `--emit-c`. - Optional, from the review of #679: a `node --test` file pinning the integer tables of `runtime/javascript/int64.mjs`; narrow the `RangeError` check in `torb_run` so a non-panic RangeError is not reported as stack overflow. ## Acceptance criteria - [ ] `js.allow` holds the existing programs that use only the slice-1 constructs - [ ] `torb run --target browser-js` and `torb check --target browser-js` work without `--emit-c` - [ ] `torb format --check` and `torb docs check` are green _Part of the epic #63.
